Welcome from the Chair

Welcome to the 25th International Electronic Conference on Synthetic Organic Chemistry

Electronic conferences on synthetic organic chemistry (ECSOC) are a series of conferences maintained through the internet since 1997, an original initiative by MDPI, and later consolidated with the contribution of the University of Santiago de Compostela (Spain). Nowadays it constitutes the first and oldest electronic conference in the world. It maintains its character of free participation, with contributions considered as preliminary reports on edge achievements, and registration as a distinctive standard of the world wide web open access character.

Call for Participations

Dear Colleague,

The Electronic Conferences on Synthetic Organic Chemistry (ECSOC) are a series of conferences that have been held online since 1997. Originally, it was an initiative of MDPI, and was later amalgamated with the University of Santiago de Compostela (Spain). It now constitutes the longest running electronic conference in the world. It maintains free participation and registration in the true spirit of open access on the World Wide Web. The conference this year will cover a wide range of aspects involved in synthetic organic chemistry. A non-exhaustive list of topics that will be considered comprises:

  1. General Organic Synthesis
  2. Bioorganic, Medicinal and Natural Products Chemistry
  3. Microwave Assisted Synthesis
  4. Polymer and Supramolecular Chemistry
  5. Computational Chemistry
  6. Ionic Liquids

ECSOC-25 offers you the opportunity to participate in this international, scholarly conference without having the concern or expenditure of travel. The conference will be completely free of charge—both to “attend”, and for scholars to upload and present their latest work on the conference platform. There will be a possibility to submit selected papers to the journal Molecules (ISSN 1420-3049, Impact Factor: 4.411 (2020) ; 5-Year Impact Factor: 4.587 (2020) ; https://www.mdpi.com/journal/molecules).

Abstracts (in English) should be submitted by 10 September 2021 24 September 2021 online at https://sciforum.net/conference/ecsoc-25. After the abstract is accepted by the Scientific Committee, the authors will be invited to prepare a full description of their work under the form of a PowerPoint presentation, and to upload it before 1 October 2021 15 October 2021 to ensure there is time for a final check.

We hope you will be able to join this exciting event and support us in making it a success. The 25th International Electronic Conference on Synthetic Organic Chemistry is organized and sponsored by MDPI (https://www.mdpi.com), an open access publisher based in Switzerland.

We look forward to receiving your research papers and to welcome you at this 25th edition of the e-Conference.

Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have questions.

Kind regards,
Dr. Julio A. Seijas Vázquez
Chair of the 25th Electronic Conference on Synthetic Organic Chemistry (ECSOC-25)

Instructions for Authors

Submission

Submissions should be done by the authors online by registering with www.sciforum.net, and using the "New Submission" function once logged into system.

  1. Scholars interested in participating in this conference can submit their communications abstract (about 200-250 words, do not include references) online on this website until September 10th, 2021 September 24, 2021. Two types of communications are considered, a) minireviews covering the state of the art of some of the aspects covered by the conference sections, b) preliminary communications of research results (containing Introduction, results and discussion, experimental part and references).

  2. Abstracts will be evaluated based on their scientific quality and suitability for the conference sections. All authors will be notified by September 20th, 2021 September 30th, 2021 about the acceptance of their abstract for the 25th International Electronic Conference on Synthetic Organic Chemistry.

  3. Once the abstract has been accepted, the author is requested to send the manuscript, and optionally, a PowerPoint presentation (PDF only) and / or video of their work, until the submission deadline of October 1st, 2021 October 15th, 2021.

  4. The conference proceedings papers and presentations will be available on https://sciforum.net/conference/ecsoc-25 for discussion and will be published in Journal Chemistry Proceedings. Once the conference is over, a CD-ROM (ISBN 978-3-0365-1278-5) will be published with the contents of the conference, it will be available on request (organic@usc.es) for 75€ each.

  5. Participants of this conference are cordially invited to contribute with a full manuscript to our Special Issue in the journal Molecules (the submission to the journal is independent from the conference proceedings and will follow the usual process of the journal, including peer-review, APC, etc.). Papers presented at the conference will be granted a 20% discount in the Special Issue.

Proceedings Paper
Proceedings papers must be prepared in MS Word using the Proceedings template and should be converted to PDF format before submission.

Manuscripts for the proceedings issue must have the following organization:
Title
Full author names
Affiliations (including full postal address) and authors' e-mail addresses
Abstract
Keywords
Introduction
Methods
Results and Discussion
Conclusions
(Acknowledgements)

Presentation Slides

Authors are encouraged to prepare a presentation in PowerPoint or similar software, to be displayed online along with the manuscript. Slides can be prepared the same way as for any traditional conference. They should be converted to PDF format before submission.

Video Presentations

Authors are also encouraged to submit video presentations. This is an unique way of presenting your paper and discussing it with peers from all over the world. Video should be no longer than 3-5 minutes and prepared with one of the following formats: .mp4 / .webm / .ogg (max size: 250Mb). It should be submitted with the full manuscript before October 15th, 2021. (full submission deadline). PostersPosters will be available on this conference website during and after the event. Like papers presented on the conference, participants will be able to ask questions and make comments about the posters. Posters can be presented without an accompanying proceedings paper. However, they will not be added to the proceedings of the conference. For detailed instructions on how to submit a poster, please contact us at ecsoc@mdpi.com.

Potential Conflicts of Interest

All authors must disclose all relationships or interests that could inappropriately influence or bias their work. This should be conveyed in a separate "Conflict of Interest" statement preceding the "Acknowledgments" and "References" sections at the end of the manuscript. If there is no conflict, please state "The authors declare no conflict of interest." Financial support for the study must be fully disclosed under "Acknowledgments" section.

Copyright

MDPI, the publisher of the Sciforum.net platform, is an open access publisher. We believe that authors should retain the copyright to their scholarly works.
